Virginia Rose Stephens, 70, Avid Crocheter

Virginia Rose Stephens (nee Marsh), 70, of Lorain, died Thursday, September 12, 2002 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain following a short illness.

Born July 15, 1932 in Coney Island, NY, she has lived in Lorain for the past 13 years. Prior to that she has live din New Jersey, FL and Minnesota.

She attended Woodbridge High School in New Jersey and was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lorain.

Virginia was a homemaker who was an avid crocheter, doll and plate collector.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, John R.; son, Anthony John Caccavale of Baltimore, MD; daughter, Cynthia Ann Caccavale of Lorain; 4 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; brother Bruce Humphrey of Tampa, FL and sister, Patricia Raison of Madison, FL.

She is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Antonia R. Payland in 2000.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 14, 2002 from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. at Resthaven Memory Gardens Chapel, Avon. Rev. Jimmy Madsen, pastor of First Evangelical Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain is handling the arrangements.
