Dorothy Paskvan, 76, Enjoyed Traveling
Dorothy C. Paskvan (nee Zahratka), 76, of Lorain, died Thursday, September 12, 2002 at her home after a long illness.She was born October 19, 1925 in Mather, Pennsylvania and had resided in Lorain for the past 60 years. She was a graduate of Jefferson High School in Mather, PA.
Mrs. Paskvan worked as a clerk at Hills Department Store on Grove Avenue in Lorain and then at Zayre Department Store in Elyria.
She was a member of St. John Roman Catholic Church in Lorain, the church Altar & Rosary Society in which she was past president and the Mother's Club of St. John School.
Mrs. Paskvan enjoyed reading, cooking and traveling and visited Las Vegas many times.
She is survived by her sons: Robert S. Paskvan of Bluffton, South Carolina, David M. Paskvan of Lorain and Anthony J. Paskvan of Seoul, Korea; 14 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; sisters: Katherine McDermott of Amherst, Patricia Weisheit of Sheffield Lake, Mary Jane McPhillips of Birmingham, Ohio and Diane Zabratka of Lorain; brothers: John Zahratka of Lorain, Michael Zahratka of Michigan, Robert Zahratka of Grafton and Richard Zahratka of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert J. Paskvan on March 29, 1989, daughter Charlotte Dindino in July of 2001 and parents Michael and Catherine (nee Kurtyka) Zahratka.
Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain where the St. John Altar & Rosary Society will pray the rosary Sunday at 3:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel followed by the funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Roman Catholic Church, 2143 Homewood Drive, Lorain. The Rev. Thomas Smith, pastor and the Rev. Thomas Rath, pastor emeritus, will concelebrate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
