Viola M. Kren, 92, Homemaker
Viola M. "Ve" Kren (nee Rehanek), 92 of Mt. Pleasant, PA, formerly of Elyria, passed away, Wednesday, September 11, 2002 at the Rae-Ann Suburban Care Center, Westlake, following a two week illness.Mrs. Kren was born, October 4, 1909 in Collier, PA and had lived in Elyria from the mid 1960's until 1980. She had recently returned to the area to be near her daughter.
Mrs. Kren was a homemaker and for a time worked as a bookkeeper with the Montgomery Ward Company. She was active with the Welcome Wagon in Elyria and served on the board that raised money to purchase a van for the Murray Ridge School. She enjoyed crafts and playing cards.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Lois D. Tashjian (Edward) of Bay Village and Donna Lee Luther (Martin) of Kinsman, Ohio. Other survivors include 4 grandchildren, Eric, Jeffrey and Brian Luther and Laura Luther Scott; 5 great grandchildren and a sister Dorothy Patton of Youngwood, PA. Besides her husband of 62 years, Anthony W., Mrs. Kren is preceded in death by 2 sisters, Mabel Andrews and Eleanor Mitchell, a brother, Lawrence Rehanek and her parents, Frank and Emily (nee Sidehamer) Rehanek.
Friends may call the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 3200 Detroit Road, Avon from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, September 13, 2002. All services and interment will be in Mt. Pleasant, PA. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials take the form of contributions to The Lorain County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, P. O. Box 105, Lorain, Ohio 44052.
