Margaret "Marge" Green, 91, Enjoyed Playing Cards
Margaret "Marge" Green, (nee Masin), age 91, of Lorain, died Tuesday, September 3, 2002 at Lorain Manor Nursing Home following a brief illness.She was born April 26, 1911 in Lorain and had been a life-long resident of the city.
Mrs. Green attended the Lorain Public Schools and continued her education at the St. Joseph Hospital School of Practical Nursing. She was most recently employed as a sales associate for the former Klein's Department Store and the Smith and Gerhart Department Store of Lorain. She had previously been employed as a packager for the Central Bakery.
A member of First United Methodist Church of Lorain, her hobbies included taking day trips with the Salvation Army Keenagers, playing cards (especially pinochle) and watching television.
She is survived by her daughter: Mrs. Doyle (Donna) Kessler of Sheffield Township, a grandson: Charles A. Kessler of Lorain, 7 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband: Charles in 1966, by a daughter: Marlene Green, granddaughter: Beverly Kessler in 2000, her parents: Alois and Josephine (nee Mecesa) Masin, by brothers: Anthony, Alois and Frank and by a sister: Josephine Karnik.
Graveside services will be Friday, September 6, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. in Elmwood Cemetery, 640 North Ridge Road, Lorain. The Rev. Dale Warrick, pastor of Cornerstone United Methodist Church will officiate.
The family suggests memorials in her memory to the charity of the donor's choice.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, Lorain.
