Dennis Carson Rhodes, 70, Enjoyed fishing, baseball, family and friends and his work

Dennis Carson Rhodes, 70, of Avon Lake passed away Monday, September 2, 2002 at St. John & West Shore Hospital, Westlake following a brief illness. He was born August 21, 1932 in Morristown, Tennessee and moved to Avon Lake from Bay Village 32 years ago. He was self-employed as a cabinetmaker and building contractor for Rhodes Cabinets and Dennis Rhodes Builders. Mr. Rhodes enjoyed fishing, baseball, his family and friends and his work.

Mr. Rhodes is survived by his wife of 50 years, Janet (nee Shaver); a son, Tommy Lee of Avon and a daughter, Rhonda Jane Pace (Daniel) of Sheffield Lake; three grandchildren, Mindy, Dana and Abby and a brother, Royle of Morristown, Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Estel Lee and Grace (nee Vineyard) Rhodes.

Friends may call at the BUSCH-BURMEISTER FAMILY CHAPEL, 163 Avon-Belden Rd. Avon Lake from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Services will be held at the funeral home Friday September 6 at 10:00 a.m. Rev. John Butchko, pastor of Avon United Methodist Church will officiate. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted. Memorials may be forwarded to the Salvation Army.
