Sara Elizabeth "Libby" Jacobs, 84, US Veteran
Sara Elizabeth "Libby" Jacobs (nee Murray), 84, of Uniontown, PA and formerly of Lorain, Ohio, died Sunday, September 1, 2002, at the home of her sister Barbara Jean Callaghan, following a lengthy illness.Born April 20, 1918 in Uniontown, PA, she graduated from North Union Township High School in 1938.
Sara was a member of the VFW and American Legion Auxiliary, Lorain.
She is survived by her sister, Barbara Jean Callaghan of Uniontown, PA; 2 brothers, Russell L. Murray of Uniontown, PA, and E. Wade Murray of Colma, CA; several nephews and nieces.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, James H. in 1973; parents, Russell L. and Pearl (nee Gaskill) Murray; and brother, Milton Murray.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 5, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 6 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Rev. Dale Warrick, pastor of Cornerstone United Methodist Church, Lorain, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
