Elizabeth C. Weigel, 73, Data Processor
Elizabeth C. Weigel, 73 of Elyria died Saturday, August 31, 2002 at St. John West Shore Hospital following a brief illness.Born December 8, 1928 in Lorain and was a life long resident of the area.
Elizabeth was employed as a Data Process in the Payroll department of General Industries in Elyria for 26 years.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran church in Amherst and along with her sister, Wilhelmina Schindler, she operated Betty's Butterflies Booth at Jamie's Flea Market in Amherst for many years. She enjoyed traveling, crafts and caring for animals.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Melvin "Bud" Weigel, son, Jeffrey Bowers of North Ridgeville, brothers: Albert Schindler of Camirillo, CA, Alfred Schindler of Collins, OH and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Adolf and Sara (Demuth) Schindler, 3 brothers, Arnold, Adolf and Arthur Schindler and 4 sisters, Eleanor McFarland, Dolores Schindler, Adelheine Wagner, Wilhelmina Schindler.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 3, 2002 from 7-9 p.m. in the Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home, 2920 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, September 4th at 11:30 a.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery in Vermilion. Rev. Gary Bernath will be officiating.
