Leandro "Andy" Rodriguez, Jr., 71, Straddle Truck Driver
Leandro " Andy" Rodriguez, Jr., age 71, of Lorain died on Thursday, August 29, 2002 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center, West, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.Born January 26, 1931 in Lorain, where he has been a lifelong resident.
He was employed as a straddle truck driver for 35 years at US Kobe Steel, retiring in 1989.
Leandro was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain and United Steel Workers Union Local 1104. He enjoyed working on cars, family gatherings, listening to Mexican music and watching TV.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years: Donna (nee Rahrig), sons: David, Michael, both of Lorain, Richard of Elyria, daughters: Deborah Wyatt, of Elyria, Karen Gerena, Linda Rodriguez, both of Lorain, Brenda Velazquez of Sheffield Lake, 10 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, brothers; Charlie of Elyria, Frank of Phoenix, AZ and Rudy, of apply Valley, CA, sisters: Anita Rodriguez and Mary Agosto, both of Lorain.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Leandro Rodriguez, Sr., in 1976, Julia (nee Ortiz) in 1991, brother Raul in 1977 and sister: Margaret Rodriguez in 1935.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 3, 2002 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2002 at 8:45 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a church service at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain. Rev. Tony DeGracia, deacon of Sacred Heart Chapel, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
