Roy H. Shauver, 84, Enjoyed traveling, reading, and working crossword puzzles

Roy H. Shauver, age 84, of Lorain died in his home on Monday, August 12, 2002 due to a lingering illness. He was born on March 22, 1918 in Amherst and has lived in the area most of his life.

Mr. Shauver was a ship fitter for American Ship Building in Lorain, Ohio and worked there for 25 years retiring in 1981.

He attended Faith United Methodist Church in Lorain and enjoyed traveling, reading, and working crossword puzzles.

His survivors include his spouse Mable (nee Strait) and were married since 1962 and sister Evelyn Henley of Ashland City, TN.

Proceeded in death were parents William and Emma (Messall) Shauver, brothers Earl and Russell Shauver and sisters Esther Flechsenhaar, and Florence Ruth.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-6 p.m. at the Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home 2920 Broadway, Lorain, Ohio. The funeral will be on Thursday August 15 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. LaRoy Ruble officiating. The cemetery is located on Elmwood in Lorain, Lot 6211 4&5.

Memorial can be made out to the Faith United Methodist Church 2201 Reid Ave., Lorain, OH 44052.

Funeral arrangements will be announced in tomorrow's paper.
