Gladys H. Martin, 104, had over 5000 volunteer hours
Gladys H. Martin (nee Holland), 104 of Vermilion, died Monday, August 12, 2002 in Mill Manor Nursing Home, Vermilion after a short illness.She was born October 26, 1897 in Eastbourne, England and moved to Vermilion in 1967 from Buffalo, NY.
She was a member of the United Church of Christ Congregational, Vermilion and had over 5000 volunteer hours for Lorain Community Hospital from 1967-1989.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy McClimans of Vermilion, OH; 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Harry Martin, and her parents, Thomas H. and Ann Elizabeth (nee Goodburn) Holland.
Friends may call at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion Thursday, August 15, 2002 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of a private graveside service at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion. The Reverend Louis Bertoni, former pastor of the United Church Congregational, will officiate.
