Josefina Pinero Mendoza, 77, enjoyed sewing, cooking, singing, dancing and music

Josefina Pinero Mendoza, (nee Perez), age 77, of Lorain, died on Wednesday, August 7, 2002 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center -- West, following a brief illness.

She was born on March 19, 1925 in Juncos, Puerto Rico. She moved to Lorain in 1953,

Josefina was a member of the Lorain Spanish Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses.

She enjoyed sewing, cooking, singing, dancing and listening to music.

She is survived by her sons: Jose Perez, of Clawson, MI, Pedro Manuel Pinero and Adam Pinero, both of Lorain, daughters: Sonia Garza, Maria Jones, Wanda Cruz, all of Lorain, Yamina Gracia, of Louisville, KY, and Tomasa Johnson, of Painesville, many grandchildren and many great grandchildren, brothers: Henry Gonzalez and Enrique Gonzalez, both of Amherst and sister: Liduvina Rodriguez, of Lancaster, PA.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years: Manuel Pinero Mendoza in 1986 and sister: Esperanza Perez and parents: Ramon and Amelia (nee Gonzalez) Perez.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 9, 2002 at 6:00 p.m. in the Lorain Spanish Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses, 2340 Crehore Avenue, Lorain. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain is handling the arrangements.
