Jerrett C. Kasper, 30 years of age, and a resident of Henrietta Township, was found dead at him home, August 7, 2002 following apparent complications due to Diabetes.He was born June 15, 1972, in Oberlin. He was raised and has lived almost his entire life in Henrietta Township. He graduated from Firelands High School in 1990.
Jerrett worked for Georgia Mills Carpet as a warehouse employee. He was attending Church on the Rise in Westlake. He had been attending Lorain County Community College, seeking his degree in Nursing. He loved exercising, painting, drawing, carving and basketball.
Survivors include his companion of 9 years Jodi Finlayson; his son, Daniel Kasper of Lorain; his daughters Taylor Kasper, Tessa Kasper and Kristy Scott all of Lorain. His mother Mary Jane Croston (nee Dunn) and step-father David Croston of Avon Lake, his father John Kasper and stepmother Jeanne Kasper of Henrietta Township. His brother John Kasper of Henrietta Township; half brother Eric Kasper of Amherst, step-brothers Matthew Croston and Joshua Croston both of Lorain. Other survivors include his step-sisters Michelle Budka of Vermilion; Kim Croston of Alliance, Wendy Saunders of West Lafayette, Ohio, Amanda Croston of Akron, and half sister Lindsey Kasper of Amherst.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents John and Helen (nee Buckholz) Kasper and his maternal grandparents Frank and Jane (nee Behnke) Dunn.
Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Hemple Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. A mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at St. Joseph Cathlolic Church 200 St. Joseph Dr,. Amherst, at 12:00 p.m. Father Lawrence Martello, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Amherst will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Grafton.
