Mary Catherine Weber, 83, enjoyed reading and historical literature
Mary Catherine Weber (nee Dalton) 83, of Lorain, died Tuesday, August 6, 2002 at her home.She was born April 28, 1919 in Mansfield, Ohio and has been a Lorain resident for 52 years. She was a graduate of St. Peter's grade and high school in Mansfield, Ohio. She graduated from St. Vincent Charity Hospital School of Nursing, Cleveland, Ohio. She served her country during WWII as a LT. In the U.S. Army Nurse Corps stationed 3 years at the USA 155th General Hospital in Malden Hills, England. After her military service she attended The Ohio State University. She retired in 1987 after 13 years from her position as school nurse at St. Peter School.
She enjoyed reading, especially historical literature. Her faith, love, and kindness will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
She was a member of the Catholic Church of St. Peter, Lorain.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Grease G.; sons, Fred of Vermilion, John of Columbus, Mark of North Royalton, Greg of Cleveland and Brian of Amherst. Daughters, Peggy Kulchar of Amherst, Mary Ann Ringler of Defiance, Missouri, Marureen Martin of Sheffield Lake, 17 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren. Brothers Robert Dalton of Mansfield and Richard Dalton of Mansfield. Sisters Mildred Kramer, Jane Dalton, Collette Kurtzman and Constance Dalton of Mansfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Zita (nee Fowler) Dalton, and brothers, John and William Dalton.
Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Dombrowski-Volak-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain. Prayers will be said at the funeral home Friday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. a the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Ave., Lorain, Ohio. Reverend Kenneth Wolnowski, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain where a military graveside service will be held.
