James C. Carver, 78, US Army Veteran
James C. Carver, 78 of Lorain died on Sunday, August 4, 2002 at the West Florida Regional Medical Center in Pensacola, FL following a brief illness.Mr. Carver was born on November 12, 1923 in Bemidji, Minnesota and moved to Lorain in 1992. He was a US Army Veteran serving in WWII. He was a retired scaler for Warehouser Corp in Everett, WA, retiring in 1988 after 15 years of service. He had also worked at US Steel between 1952-1969. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and was an avid woodcrafter.
He was a member of the VFW in Marysville, WA.
He is survived by his daughters Molly Browder of Vermilion, Patricia Rodriguez of Lorain, Barbara Hall of Pensacola, FL, Micklena Truett of De Funiak Springs, FL. Sons Jay C. Carver of Wellington, Theodore James Carver of De Funiak Springs, FL, 32 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren. Sisters Helen Waller of Monroe, WA, Betty and Abby both of International Falls, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by a son, Joe Samuel Carver, his father, Theodore Jay Carver and his mother Myrtle (nee Kimble) Carver Newman, brothers, Earl, Patty, Gus Vernon and one sister Ada.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 10, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. in the Sonshine Baptist Church, 3405 Pearl Road, Lorain, Ohio with Rev. David L. Straub, officiating.
